Whether you think in terms of “God,” or “Good,” “Evil,” or the “Devil,” the fact is that you think. And of course, with thought come perceptions, all of which shape our experiences.
In the coming weeks, I will be presenting a series of short stories, or thoughts: an imaginary assemblage of situations, people and belief systems for you, the reader, to preview and process. Perceptions are strong motivators, and I want to motivate, to provoke emotions of laughter, sadness, righteous indignation or simply an opinion.
You will wonder if the subject of each story is real, contrived, a microcosm, or if the situation was an actuality, the life behind the prose, creating the art of words covering it. You will ask from where the the thoughts came, and perhaps even question yourself.
You will be the judge and the jury, the moral dictator of the right or the wrong. Your feelings will be welcome and embraced as you are invited to share experiences of your own, and experiences of others, as you invite your friends to come and be titillated, transfixed by each tantalizing morsel, each thought at the time.
White Flowers
I looked out the window at the grownups at the corner, waiting for the bus, all dressed up like they were going to church or something. They wore carnations, red, like the blood from the cut on my arm, and white, clean like Nana’s sheets. I remember loving flowers and wanted one for myself.
More next week.
